Why SMP works on short video
SMP content on TikTok and YouTube is dominated by stories: rivalries, alliances, betrayals and big builds. A public SMP can borrow that format with its own players and events.

Hooks for an SMP
Say it in the first second, with a character or the subject moving on frame 0. Four to seven words is the sweet spot.

Common mistakes
- A tour with no people in it. SMPs sell community; show characters.
- Inside jokes new viewers can’t follow. Set up the conflict in the first line.
- Filming other players without asking. Use client-side actors or get permission.

How do I advertise a public SMP?
Show the community: stories, builds and events, with characters on screen. Post short videos several times a week with the address and Discord at the end, and list the server on SMP-tagged server lists.
