How to show your server IP in a video

A viewer can only join if they can read and remember your address. The IP badge is the end card most server Shorts use: a rounded panel with the server icon and the address, typed on and held to the end.

What the IP badge looks like

In the server Shorts we measured, the badge is a dark translucent rounded panel with the server icon on the left, the address in white, and a second line underneath (often the Bedrock port in a bigger italic sky-blue Minecraft-style font). The icon pops in first, the panel widens, and both lines type on at about 30 characters a second. Then it stays to the end.

Add one to your Short

  1. Use a short domain

play.yourserver.com or yourserver.com, not an IP and port.

  2. Time it to the closing line

Bring the badge in on the first word of the last sentence, three to five seconds before the end.

  3. Keep live footage behind it

A badge over gameplay keeps viewers watching; a static end card is where they swipe.

  4. Stay inside the safe zone

Above the bottom quarter and clear of the right-hand button column.

  5. Add the second line

The Bedrock port, “Java & Bedrock”, or the versions you support.

  6. Repeat it in the caption

The address goes in the caption’s first line too.

Show it early too

Many viewers swipe before the end. A small, quiet address chip in Minecraft font during the first few seconds, inside the safe zone, gives those viewers a chance to see it. Keep it small enough not to compete with the hook.

A different address per platform

Use tiktok.yourserver.com on TikTok and yt.yourserver.com on Shorts, both pointing to the same server. The Minecraft client sends the hostname the player typed, so a join-analytics plugin can count players per platform. VoxelCut’s Brand Kit stores per-platform addresses and puts the right one on each export.

The IP badge in VoxelCut

The IP badge is a built-in Minecraft-text template: server icon, address and subtitle from your Brand Kit, with the pop and typewriter reveal. The AI adds it to the end of videos by default; you can move it, restyle it or switch to the how-to-join flow in the editor.

Frequently asked questions

How long should the server IP be on screen?

At least the last three to five seconds, ideally entering on the first word of the closing line and staying to the end.

Where should the IP go in a vertical video?

Above the captions and inside the safe zone: out of the bottom quarter and the right-hand button column, where TikTok, Shorts and Reels draw their interface.

Should I show my Bedrock port?

If your server accepts Bedrock players, yes, as a second line under the Java address.
