What a good GUI shot looks like
- The menu centred and large, with the world behind it dimmed.
- The cursor glides between items rather than jumping, and tooltips appear as it hovers.
- A punch zoom (about 1.6–2.5×, in roughly 150 ms) onto the number that matters: a percentage, a price, a level.
- The zoom holds while the action resolves, then cuts back.
- Something moves the whole time: the cursor, a spinner, the caption.
Record it
Pick one menu and one item
The video is about one upgrade or feature. Know which item and which line of its tooltip is the payoff.
Use a large GUI scale
In Video Settings, raise GUI Scale so the menu fills more of a vertical frame.
Open it by command
Run the command (for example
/enchants) so the menu opens cleanly at the start of the take.Move slowly and hover
Glide to the item, hover long enough for the tooltip to be read (about a second), then click if the click is the payoff.
Show the result in the world
Cut to the feature working: the enchant breaking blocks, the crate opening, the upgrade paying out.
Edit it
- Use at most about one punch zoom every four to five seconds, only on numbers that matter.
- Add a button-click sound on clicks and a level-up or anvil sound on success.
- Caption what the number means, not the number itself: “double the drops”, not “Fortune III”.
- Hold a GUI shot only while something on screen changes; GUI holds in the skits we measured ran up to about 10 seconds, but always with movement.
Any command, any menu, with VoxelCut
VoxelCut doesn’t need to know your plugin. It runs the command, takes a screenshot along with whatever structured menu data the game exposes, and analyses the screenshot with vision to find what’s worth showing. Then it records while gliding the cursor, hovering, clicking or pressing keys, and turns the recording into zooms, highlights and sounds. It works for chest menus, NPC dialogs and custom HUDs drawn with resource packs.

Frequently asked questions
How do I make a Minecraft menu readable in a vertical video?
Raise the GUI scale, centre the menu, dim the world behind it, and punch-zoom onto the line that matters while it is on screen.
Does VoxelCut need to support my plugin?
No. It opens any menu by command, reads it from a screenshot with vision, and records cursor moves and clicks, so it works with plugins it has never seen.
Can it click buttons in my menu on a live server?
Yes. Clicks are real on a live server, so the AI clicks only what the video needs and never spends real money. To approve each click yourself, turn on “Ask me before the AI runs commands or clicks on a live server” on the Minecraft page: the app then shows the slot and its tooltip first. It can also copy a menu into a client-side replica and film clicks there without touching the server.
